Introduction:
Co Loa: Dating from the 3rd century BC, Co Loa Citadel (Co loa Thanh) was the first fortified citadel in Vietnamese history and became the national capital during the reign of Ngo Quyen (AD 939-4-1). This old fortress attracts many tourists for its historical and cultural value. The site consists of two outer sets of ramparts and a citadel on the inside, of rectangular shape. Especially, the citadel is a spiral-shaped complex which will take you to the mysterious ancient Vietnam thousands of years ago. Archaeologists have estimated that over two million cubic meters of material were moved in order to construct the entire fortress. The site has been the source of various relics of the Dong Son culture of the Bronze Age. It would be interesting for tourist to find that this Citadel is attractive not only in its cultural and historical value, but also in the most famous legend of Viet Nam about Princess My Chau and An Duong Vuong, a King who loved his daughter with all his heart but, lacking vigilance, left Co Loa and lost both his family and his country.
Le Mat: I's the Snake village. The locals raise Snake for the up market restaurants in Hanoi. Fresh Snake cuisine is available at this village, though it is not really cheap. A large Snake can cost US$30 to US$50, but can feed four to six persons. Several up market Snake restaurants can be found here. There are also a number of cheaper stalls peddling Snake meat and Snake elixir. If you have not stocked up on Snake wine yet, this is good place to do it.
Bat Trang: It's a small village in the north of Vietnam, is about 13 kilometers south east of Hanoi center, on the other side of Chuong Duong bridge. Why is its name popular to most tourists to northern Vietnam? The answer is its ever famous ceramic and pottery products of high quality. If you have known about Vietnam, you may not be surprised that Bat Trang’s vases, bowls, dishes, and many other kinds of ceramic products have been exported worldwide. Should you would like to contemplate workers making ceramic products by hand, just come here! What’s more, you can also try it yourself!
